Artisan Hire Finds an Alternative to the Ford Transit for Plant Transport

Chris Comer, Managing Director of Artisan Hire, has a number of depots throughout the South West. He came to the Executive Hire Show in 2010, looking for a 3.5 ton truck which would give him the capacity to carry light plant, scissor lifts and general items without the need to tow a trailer.

Chris immediately recognised that the KFS Plant & Go vehicle ticked all these boxes, but needed convincing with the badge on the front (Citroen), as the Ford Transit was seen as the work horse for the sector albeit failing to meet what the industry needed.

Following the show in 2010 Chris took the KFS demo transporter on trial and any concerns he may have had were quickly dispelled. The truck not only carried everything it was asked to comfortably, but also achieved far better fuel economy, removed the need to worry about driver licence classification, addressed manual handling and health & safety concerns as a result of the low deck height and shallow load angle.

Chris has been so pleased with the vehicle, he has just ordered his second and feels the Plant & Go Transporters product are the way forward for the hire industry.
