Test Valley Community Services take Delivery of KFS Freedom Low Floor Minibus

Test Valley Community Services (TVCS) have taken delivery of a KFS Freedom low floor coach built minibus. The charity who are members of CTA (Community Transport Association), provide a variety of services from their offices in Andover and Romsey, and have 11 vehicles which deliver Dial A Ride and Community Transport in and around the 2 towns.

The Freedom was purchased with a combination of funding from Hampshire County Council and TVCS’s own vehicle replacement fund.

The vehicle specification decided upon was particularly high, and included automatic gearbox, full air conditioning, powered side door, 15 Phoenix removable seats, an inboard Braun split platform passenger lift and finished in metallic silver.

Dick Hewett (Community Transport Manager) commented “the Freedom will be used principally for Dial A Ride services in the Andover area, together with services requiring the transport of wheelchair users, such as the local Stroke Club. TVCS chose the Freedom for a wide range of reasons, notably its wheelchair capacity, the storage space for shopping, and the easy access from the driver’s seat to the passenger compartment. The deciding factor was the convenience of a supplier based within the town which the vehicle will be serving: an Andover vehicle for Andover people.”

The KFS Freedom Low Floor Minibus comes with an extensive range of options tailored to a customers specific requirements and operational needs. Items such as powered doors, passenger lifts and removable seating allow you to customise your minubus to your needs, while effective heating and air conditioning increases passenger comfort, whatever the conditions.

Designed with easy access in mind, The Freedom Low floor minibus has a choice of integrated ramp or passenger lift. With flexible seating, it is able to accommodate seated passengers, wheelchair users, or a combination of both. A secure storage area for walking frames or wheelchairs is included, along with a choice of manual or automatic gearbox. They are ideal for Dial A Ride and Community Transport, or any members of the CTA (Community Transport Association)
