Havant Borough Council Choose KFS Plant & Go

Havant Borough Council worked with KFS Special Vehicles to produce a no compromise solution to their plant moving needs.

Havant Borough Council have taken delivery of a Plant & Go vehicle specifically made to their requirements to carry the varied range of grass cutting equipment they use on a daily basis.

The original brief was to provide a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of no more than 3500kg, this would take away the requirement to have a van and trailer, they currently use.

Having seen the standard KFS Plant & Go product Paul Stanley Fleet Manager for Havant Borough Council asked for some changes to include a drop down full width tailgate, a wider track rear axle, to allow large mowers between the wheel boxes, removable drop sides and a removable toolbox large enough to carry the various hand tools the crew required. On top of this he wanted a payload of 1320kg with even spare capacity to carry 3 crew and all of their equipment, quite a task at 3500kg GVW but KFS worked hard and came up with a solution

The overall task set by Paul was met allowing for the vehicle to be used without the need of a special licence or tachograph. Once in service the vehicle will be used to assess the design for any minor changes before Havant proceed to order the further vehicles required as part of their efficiency programme.
