Express Tool Hire Take Delivery of Their Second KFS Plant + Go Truck

Express Tool Hire Ltd in Nottingham has taken delivery of their second KFS Plant & Go truck just over a year after purchasing the first. The new truck based on a Fiat Ducato 2.3JTD duplicates the specification of the first vehicle with the addition of 2 tie off points located midway down the bulkhead to secure smaller gas bottles.

Having seen the Plant & Go vehicle for the first time at the Executive Hire Show in 2010, David Meenan (Director) could not deny on paper the vehicle ticked all the boxes with regards to payload, floor height, gross vehicle weight and flexibility, but it was so far removed from the Ford product used traditionally in the sector and the base vehicle was an unknown, could it be just to good to be true.

Fast forward to June 2011 and delivery of the second vehicle, David now looks back and accepts all his concerns were unfounded.

David commented "The first Plant & Go truck very quickly proved itself, and dispelled any concerns I may have had. The vehicle has allowed us to move away from trailers, it is very economical, and the drivers love it. Even when fully loaded with a mini digger or a dumper the driving characteristics are impeccable, and you would not know you had anything on the back. Loading is safe and easy, and concerns surrounding working at height have been removed, with the floor height being only 550mm off the ground.

When I compare now the operational flexibility, that the Plant & Go product gives us compared to the traditional Ford and trailer alternative it has to be the future for the industry, it defiantly works for us. The fact I can get my track car on the back is an added bonus".
